Kylie Yacuzzo, MSW, LCSW

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing virtual therapy to teens and adults throughout North Carolina.

I often work with people who look like they have it all together on the outside but spend a lot of time overthinking, second-guessing themselves, worrying about disappointing others, or feeling stuck in patterns they aren't sure how to change. My areas of focus include anxiety, trauma, relationship concerns, boundaries, self-esteem and self-trust, as well as depression, life transitions, and neurodiversity.

I believe therapy should feel collaborative, supportive, and actually useful in your everyday life. You are the expert on your own experiences, and my job isn't to tell you how to live your life. Instead, I'll help you understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, recognize your strengths, consider different perspectives, and develop practical tools that fit you.

My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and tailored to each person I work with. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and strengths-based practices. But therapy with me isn't one-size-fits-all—and it isn't just about learning coping skills. We'll also make space to understand where patterns came from, how they're affecting you now, and what you want to do differently moving forward.

You can expect me to be compassionate and accepting, but also engaged and willing to challenge you when it may help you grow. There's room for difficult conversations, big emotions, questions you don't have answers to yet, and usually some humor along the way.

Outside of therapy, I'm passionate about mental health education and making conversations about mental health feel more approachable and less intimidating.

If you're tired of feeling stuck in the same thoughts, patterns, or relationships, you don't have to figure out exactly where to start before reaching out. We can start there together.

What Therapy With Me Is Like

Therapy doesn't have to feel overly clinical or intimidating. My style is conversational, supportive, and down-to-earth. We'll talk about what's happening in your life, but we'll also look for patterns, make connections, and figure out what might actually help.

You can expect me to listen without judgment, ask questions that make you think, offer different perspectives, and gently challenge you when it may be helpful. I won't expect you to show up with the perfect words or know exactly what you want to work on.

And yes, there's room for humor, personality, and being a real human in therapy.
